Teams from participating universities enter AWSIM Campus and trade a simulated portfolio against live market data, interspersed with fair breakout scenarios that hit every team at the same moment. Every decision a student takes — what they noticed, how they framed it, what they chose to do and why — is captured as a reasoning trail by the AW Engine. Entry is anonymous by design: teams are identified by participant code, and faculty mark the reasoning, not the reputation.
Who can enter
Undergraduate and postgraduate students at participating universities, entered as departmental teams. Faculty register separately to supervise and mark their institution's cohort.
What you are scored on
Not luck, and not solely return. The AW Engine scores detection, decoding and decision quality across the whole reasoning path, so a well-argued losing call outranks a lucky guess.
What you get
Full AWSIM Campus access for the duration of the competition, a replayable record of your own judgement, and a leaderboard standing visible to your faculty and to participating institutions.
AWSIM Campus is an educational simulation and does not provide investment advice. Nothing within the platform, the competition or any communication relating to them constitutes a financial promotion, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any instrument. No real money is traded and no positions are held on any student's behalf.
Four steps from form to first trade.
Registration is a short form, then a human check. We validate every registrant with the TTC Institute and with your university before any account is created — which is why credentials arrive by email rather than instantly on screen.
Register
Complete the registration form as a student or as faculty. Takes about a minute.
Confirmation email
You receive an immediate email confirming your registration has been received and is under review.
Validation
The TTC Institute and your University Faculty validate your details and your eligibility to compete.
Congratulations email
On approval you receive a congratulations email with your username, a temporary password and your participant code. You set your own password on first sign-in.
Before you start
- Use your university email address — validation is faster and, for some institutions, only possible with an institutional address.
- Students need their department, course and team name. If your faculty has not yet named your team, enter your intended team name and it can be corrected later.
- Faculty need only department; course and team are optional. Faculty approvals are escalated to the Director, so they may take a little longer.
- One registration per person. If you register twice we treat the second as a duplicate and keep the first in the queue.

We would rather be plain about access than leave it implied. When you register you are asked to tick a box confirming that you accept the following term:
The term you accept at registration
In practice this means your competition access carries no charge to you, and no charge to your university, for as long as the competition runs. Continued access afterwards is not automatic — it is decided jointly by your University Faculty, the TTC Institute and AWSIM, and may depend on whether your institution takes AWSIM Campus forward as part of its teaching.
- Accounts are personal. Do not share your credentials or compete on another person's behalf.
- Reasoning trails are recorded for marking and may be reviewed by your faculty and by AWSIM for competition integrity.
- Attempting to manipulate the simulation, the leaderboard or another team's account will end your participation.
- AWSIM may adjust competition mechanics, scenario schedules or scoring during the competition, and will tell participants when it does.
Registration is an application, not an entitlement — AWSIM, the TTC Institute and the University Faculty may decline a registration without giving reasons.
We ask for the minimum, and we say why.
Who is the data controller
Lumozek Ltd is the data controller for registration data collected through this site. AWSIM EDUCATION and AWSIM Campus are operated by Lumozek Ltd. Registration data is shared with the TTC Institute and with the relevant University Faculty for the sole purpose of validating your eligibility to compete.
What we collect, and why
- Name and email — to identify you, to confirm your registration, and to send your credentials on approval.
- University, department, course and team name — to route your registration to the right faculty for validation and to place you in the right cohort.
- Role requested (student or faculty) — to grant the correct level of access.
- Consent timestamps — to record when you gave your privacy and terms consent.
That is the whole list. We practise data minimisation: we do not ask for your date of birth, your address, your student number, your grades or any special-category data, and we do not use registration data for marketing or profiling. We do not sell it, and we do not transfer it outside the parties named above.
How long we keep it
Registrations that are approved are retained for the duration of the competition and for a reasonable period afterwards so that results and marking can be verified. Registrations that are declined, and registrations that are never validated, are deleted once the competition closes.
Your rights
You may ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent before validation means we cannot process your registration and it will be deleted; withdrawing it during the competition ends your participation. To exercise any of these rights, or to ask us anything about how we handle your data, contact registrations@awsim.ai.
Legal basis
We process registration data on the basis of your consent, given by ticking the privacy consent box on the registration form. Consent is recorded with a timestamp and is not bundled with anything else.
